Record searches involving a civil case amount between $75,000 and $100,000 should now be performed at both the Superior Court and District Court. The civil limit increase to $100,000 was effective as of July 24, 2015.
For reference: In the state of Washington, the Superior Court is the court of general jurisdiction and the District Court is the court of limited jurisdiction. The District Courts have concurrent jurisdiction with Superior Courts over misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor violations, and civil cases limited under a set figure.

Senate Bill 860, effective September 1, 2015, defines owner liability, revises the signature requirements for termination, reinstatement, and certain amendments and adds a subchapter regarding ratification of defective corporate acts or shares. In addition, the Bill provides changes in various merger requirements and allowances including provisions allowing that any filing entity that is a party to a merger may include certificates of amendment, restated certificates of formation without amendment, or a restated certificates of formation containing amendments as attachments to the merger documents.
House Bill 3, effective September 24, 2015, reduces certain business entity filing fees and amends the provision regarding the required content of a foreign corporation’s application for a license to do business.
House Bill 4399, effective October 1, 2015, provided that the LLC annual statement of resident agent and office fee will remain $25 until Oct. 1, 2019. The fee had been scheduled to go to $15 on October 1, 2015. View bill
House Bill 4384, effective October 1, 2015, provided that the nonprofit corporation annual report fee will remain $20 until Oct. 1, 2019. The fee had been scheduled to go to $10 on October 1, 2015.
House Bill 4397, effective October 1, 2015, provided that the business corporation annual report fee will remain $25 until Oct. 1, 2019. The fee had been scheduled to go to $15 on October 1, 2015.
